Networked Society: The Future of Learning
This video brought up many good points when speaking about the future of learning. It discussed how we create children, and expect them all to fit the title of a "perfect student". The "system" should adapt to the students who are learning, not the other way around. Learning is only truly beginning now, as we have finally discovered a more effective way to teach a wide variety of children. If we provide students access to the internet, they will be able to discover an abundance of information. Teachers must direct students in the right direction, but are not required to provide the answers. Students should be able to search for the answers on their own, and make learning a meaningful experience. Learning should be less on memorizing information, and more on the hands on approach. Students will be able to discover a strategy to learning that fits them best - not a universal strategy that is required to meet the needs of a classroom of students.
The following are some of the different ways students may learn best. Some students may be more logic smart, while others are more picture smart. It isn't about comparing students to each other, its about finding the best strategy for each individual child.
